Terms of Use

Last updated: April 25, 2026

Welcome to Haulock. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Haulock website, dashboard, API, emails, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, running a lookup, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Haulock is

Haulock is a research tool for freight carriers, brokers, dispatchers, and other industry users. We aggregate and display public records and third-party data so you can review the operating history, authority status, and risk signals of motor carriers and freight brokers before you do business with them. Haulock is an information tool, not a recommendation, endorsement, accusation, or rating service.

2. Source of the data we display

The information shown in a Haulock report comes from public and third-party sources. The primary source is the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), specifically the SAFER, L&I, and SMS systems operated by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Other sources include public WHOIS records, public DNS records, public web search results, public business listings, and information voluntarily submitted by other Haulock users.

We do not own, control, generate, or modify the data published by FMCSA or by any other third-party source. We display what those sources publish, sometimes with formatting, scoring, or aggregation applied. If FMCSA, a search engine, or any other source publishes information that is incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, that information may appear in our reports until the upstream source corrects it. Any dispute about the accuracy of FMCSA data must be raised directly with FMCSA.

3. No verification of identity, no guarantee of accuracy

Haulock does not independently verify the identity of any motor carrier, broker, individual, company, address, phone number, email, or website. We do not certify that the entity behind a given MC number, DOT number, or business name is the same entity you are communicating with. We do not guarantee that any data point shown in a report is current, complete, or accurate.

The Service is provided strictly on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.

4. Risk scores and verdicts are signals, not accusations

Haulock may display a numeric risk score, a verdict label (such as LOW, CAUTION, or HIGH), red flags, and similar visual indicators. These outputs are computed signals based on the upstream data we received at the time of the lookup. They are not accusations of fraud, criminal activity, or wrongdoing, and they should not be interpreted that way.

  • A high score does not mean a carrier or broker is fraudulent, dishonest, or unfit to do business with.
  • A low score does not mean a carrier or broker is safe, legitimate, or recommended.
  • Scores can change as upstream data changes. A score that was correct yesterday may be different today.

You agree that you will not represent Haulock’s output as a finding of fraud, illegality, or wrongdoing about any specific company or person. You are responsible for any decision you make based on the report.

5. Your responsibility for business decisions

You are solely responsible for any decision you make about whether to book a load, accept a tender, dispatch a truck, sign a rate confirmation, extend credit, or enter into any other transaction or relationship with any party you research using Haulock. You should perform additional due diligence appropriate to the size and risk of the transaction, including verifying contact information through independent channels, requiring proper insurance certificates, and following industry best practices. Haulock is not your broker, not your carrier, not your factor, not your lawyer, and not your insurer.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haulock and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of revenue, profits, business, goodwill, freight, cargo, opportunities, or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Haulock in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100).

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Haulock harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) brought by a third party arising out of or relating to (a) your use of the Service, (b) any decision you made based on a Haulock report, (c) any content you submitted to the Service, including community fraud reports, or (d) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or unlawfully harm any person or company.
  • Republish, resell, scrape, or redistribute Haulock reports as your own product or as a substitute for FMCSA data.
  • Use the Service to make automated decisions that affect a person or company without human review.
  • Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, disable, or overload the Service.
  • Submit false or misleading community fraud reports. Submissions must reflect your actual experience and are made under your own name and account.

9. Community fraud reports

Haulock allows users to submit fraud reports about brokers and carriers based on their own experience. These reports are user-generated content. Haulock does not investigate, verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any community report. By submitting a report, you confirm that the report reflects your own first-hand experience, you take full responsibility for its content, and you grant Haulock a worldwide license to display the report inside the Service. We may remove any report at our discretion.

10. Account, plan, and billing

Some Haulock features require a paid plan. Pricing, lookup limits, and feature inclusions are described on the pricing page and may change. Subscriptions renew automatically at the published price until canceled. Refunds are handled at our discretion. You are responsible for keeping your billing details up to date and for the actions taken under your account.

11. Intellectual property

The Haulock name, logo, design, software, scoring methodology, report layout, and accompanying materials are owned by Haulock and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. The underlying public data we display (such as FMCSA records) is not owned by us and remains the property of its respective publisher. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own legitimate business purposes, subject to these Terms.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the Service, or created risk for Haulock or other users. You may close your account at any time from Settings.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email. Your continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Where applicable law allows, you and Haulock waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in any class action arising out of or relating to the Service.
